A Jameson Connection to Jameson's Whiskey of Dublin

1889-1964::W.A. Jameson Coffee Company

The Jamesons, famous coffee and tea merchants of Victoria, were well-rooted in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland, home of the famous Jamesons who gifted the world with Jameson's Whiskey of Dublin. Robert Hamilton Jameson was the son of a Spirit Merchant doing business at the foot of Broad Street in Alloa in the early 1800s. Because there are so many Jamesons in Alloa and the surrounding area, it's challenging to connect Victoria's Jameson family to the world-famous whiskey Jamesons... at least within the timeframe I had given the story. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else makes that connection. Let me know if you do!

It would also be interesting to research whether there is any connection to the Starbucks founders who began building their empire across the water in Seattle shortly after the end of the W.A. Jameson Coffee Company closed its doors for good.

Random Stories We Come Across

We come across so many crazy interesting stories in the course of research that it would take more than a lifetime to actually write about them all. There are many incredibly interesting stories that probably should be written about. However, because we're pretty sure we won't be the ones to write the story, we'll share the subject here, and someone else can have a go. If you want to write the story for our page, feel free to get in touch with us! If you write the story for your own blog, let us know! We'd love to read it!
