Website and Technical Issues

Credit is given to (tbd) on some of the images in the blog. Who is tbd? Simply put, it means 'to be determined.' If an image in this blog was discovered somewhere in the land of digital media, with no source mentioned and nothing found with a search, the credit for the image is temporarily marked with a tbd. The same can be said for images found in newspapers (the key focus of this project), which are suddenly lost when a browser crashes. While researching, I often come across the source of these unsourced images and will return to reassign the image's credit (and possibly remove the image if necessary).

If you see an image with tbd and are aware of its source (not someone's blog or social media page, the actual source), please inform us so that the image credit can be updated (or removed if necessary).

The newest page on this site is our Papertown Station Story Map. We are in the process of pinning updated stories and random historical data to locations throughout the map. Many of these markers do not yet lead to stories, but their presence offers an exciting visualization of history and timeline—a more interesting way of viewing world history. We've only just begun!

In the top corners of the map are...

Left: a menu that pops out and offers a complete list of all markers on the map that represent stories on the blog. When you click on one of the stories, the marker on the map will light up with a halo. Some browsers are a bit pernickety, so simply zoom in or out until you see it. You can also remove any time period from view by simply unchecking the box at the top of that time period's list…

Papertown Station can be found on X, Facebook, and Instagram. However, I'm still unsure about keeping X, and all Instagram stories currently posted will be taken down and reposted when editing is complete.
